Stomach upsets can be one of our first physical disomforts and stay with us till the end
From birth many of us are prone to stomach upsets for a variety of reasons. Newborns may have a hard time digesting their first foods suffer great distress. It may take mom awhile to find the right formula or diet to suit her baby. Stomach upsets in small babies may result in prolonged periods of crying that is very difficult to subdue. The baby will draw its knees up to its belly and almost form a ball while he cries and shows every sign of distress. Parents are often times at a loss as how to sooth their babies and need to seek professional help. This may be from a medical doctor or from a holistic or more natural approach.
As children grow they may display more understandable signs of distress due to stomach upsets. They may be irritable and lack the interest to play or participate in activities. They may become very clingy and demanding of attention. They may develop a small fever and even throw up. These symptoms over a short period of time should not cause undo concern. If they persist then a visit to your health provider is recommended.
Some amount of stomach upsets can be expected in adults as well although adults have usually learned how to avoid foods and other irritants that may cause this situation. Some upsets may be due to the flu, colds or other common ailments. Anything that lasts for more than a few days or is extreme in nature should be investigated more.
