Hypertension can put more pressure on us than some people can stand

Hypertension is another term used for high blood pressure. When the heart muscle pumps blood through your body, the blood puts a certain amount of pressure on the walls of the blood vessels it passes through, with each beat. The beats go on and on for as long as we live and a normal pressure is needed to move the blood through the system. Hypertension is a problem over a long period of time because it stresses the blood vessels and threatens any weak spots they may have. It is continually pounding at a greater force than our bodies are designed to handle. Eventually something has to give way and we are in trouble.

Women face a temporary threat of hypertension during pregnancy. It is not uncommon for some women to develop high blood pressure only while they are pregnant and at no other time in their lives. It makes the period of pregnancy difficult as the woman is usually confined to bed until the child is born. High blood pressure is more of a risk to the mother than to the babe. Confinement and no activity is the best way to deal with it.

There are natural food supplements that can help your blood pressure stay lower and decrease your risk of health problems. Hypertension is something that a controlled diet and healthy living can prevent or at least minimize in most people. Talk to your doctor to determine your level of risk and seek his advice and more information on natural healing if you are faced with the problem.
