Aromatherapy Essential Oil – The True Essence of Nature
Aromatherapy essential oil is extracted from certain varieties of trees, shrubs, herbs, grasses and flowers. The oil is concentrated in different parts of the plant and the most common method of extracting aromatherapy essential oil is steam distillation.
It takes a great deal of work to produce a small amount of essential oil. Sixty thousand rose blossoms are needed to produce one ounce of rose oil and in the lavender plant the essential oil is more abundant and 220 pounds will provide 7 pounds of oil. In the aromatherapy essential oil of Jasmine, the flowers must be picked by hand before the sun becomes hot on the very first day they open whereas the sandalwood tree must be thirty years old the thirty feet high before it is cut down for distillation. As you can see, there are extremes between the different processes of these precious oils.
The price of each aromatherapy essential oil is reflected by the rarity of the plant, where it is grown and conditions that the plant was grown. Also, the price is reflected by how much oil is produced by the plant. Essential oils are highly concentrated and a little goes a long way.
