Puritan Bennett introduces Goodknight 420 Nasal CPAP Systems

Bennett today introduced a new line of PURITAN BENNETT GOODKNIGHT 420 Nasal CPAP Systems. Equipped with a wide pressure range and advanced features for patient management, the CPAP units are equally effective for home use or sleep studies.

Indicated for patients weighing 30 kg and over, the GOODKNIGHT 420 Nasal CPAP Systems can be used with pediatric patients as well as adults. At a mere 1.5 pounds, the GOODKNIGHT 420 units are barely noticeable at the bedside, and so convenient that CPAP therapy no longer hinders active patients, said Lori Thompson, vice president, Respiratory Homecare Group, Puritan Bennett. In fact, the compact device can easily be slipped into a tote bag or briefcase for traveling.

A wide pressure range of 4 to 20 cmH20 makes GOODKNIGHT 420 Nasal CPAP Systems versatile for a range of prescriptions. The durable CPAP units stand up to heavy use, helping to keep costs down. Design features include ultra- quiet operation for a sound night's sleep, and built-in calibration to promote accurate, trouble-free operation.

The GOODKNIGHT 420 Nasal CPAP Systems help active patients preserve their lifestyles while complying with therapy. In addition to a conveniently small size, each GOODKNIGHT 420 unit is equipped with an automatic voltage regulator and altitude compensation feature, enabling it to be used nearly anywhere in the world-and at any elevation. An optional D/C power supply is also available so patients can maintain therapy while camping or on the road. The breathing compliance meter on the GOODKNIGHT 420 units helps encourage adherence to CPAP treatment to assure therapeutic success.

The GOODKNIGHT 420S model records up to 600 sessions of date/time usage data. It is also the only CPAP device on the market that detects persistent residual apnea, hypopnea or snoring events that occur at set-pressure, allowing appropriate adjustments to therapy.
