Fitness and Weight Management for People with Diabetes

Pascack Valley Hospital has developed a new program to help people with diabetes reach their optimal weight and fitness levels while controlling their blood sugar.

Dia-FIT, Fitness and Weight Management for People with Diabetes, offers a medically supervised and supportive environment to assist those with diabetes to take the steps toward lifelong management of their diabetes.

For the first hour of each class, a Registered Dietitian will provide guidance in choosing the right foods and developing appropriate meal plans for proper weight management while considering the special nutrition requirements of people with diabetes.

Behavior modification techniques will be detailed to help you to change old habits for newer, healthier ones. The second hour of the class will focus on developing an appropriate exercise routine.

Under the supervision of Exercise Physiologists and Registered Nurses from PVH, participants will be guided through safe, effective, and fun exercises in our ultramodern Cardiac Rehabilitation Center.
