Pure water purification system installed at J&J Plant
J&J Snack Foods Corp. is pleased to announce that it has added a new state-of-the-art water purification system to its Mia Products facility. The plant, located in Scranton, PA, is J&J’s manufacturing facility for all Italian ice and frozen juice bar products under the LUIGI’S, ICEE, SHAPE UPS, MINUTE MAID and HI-C brands.
The ultrafiltration water purification system that was installed contains a multi-barrier system that will remove over 99% of all contaminants in the water source. The ultrafiltration unit uses pressure to force water through a membrane with sub-micron pores and removes fine suspended solids and colloidal material. The Ultrafilter also acts as a barrier to microscopic organisms thus, not only ensuring quality, but also consumer safety.
This system, which was added as a part of our agreement with The Minute Maid Company (an operating group of The Coca-Cola Company), ensures that all of the water at the Mia manufacturing facility is as pure and safe as it gets. This is a Coca-Cola higher than industry-required standard that is above and beyond industry standards.
As the leader in the manufacturing of Italian ice and frozen juice bars, we are constantly striving to improve our process. This state-of-the-art multi-barrier water treatment system insures that we will always have the purest water possible in all of our products, said T.J. Couzens, General Manager of the Mia Products Facility.
J&J Snack Foods Corp. manufactures an expanding variety of nutritional snack foods to the food service and retail supermarket industries.
